6th-8th Grade Youth

July 29th, 2015

Centuries ago, when the baptism of infants became commonplace in the church, confirmation was developed as a way to train adolescents and young adults in the basics of the faith.  Three years of instruction in Scripture, the Apostles’ Creed, the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, sacraments and the Christian life, along with worship and service experiences, prepare young people to affirm their baptism in worship and be welcomed and celebrated as full members of the community.

Confirmation is traditionally for middle school students, though adults who have been baptized but not confirmed and younger students with demonstrated maturity and interest can also be included at the discretion of the pastor.  Confirmation takes place on Wednesday evenings beginning with dinner at 5:30 pm and class from 6-7:10 pm. Please contact Pastor Lynn  if you are interested in enrolling your child or yourself.
